Jenny Tung: The Great Ocean Road Trip

The Great Ocean Road is one of the most scenic coastal drives in Australia. Being attracted to the famous 12 Apostles, I went there in Nov 2013 when I in the midst of doing my research project and preparing a conference talk.

大洋路是澳洲風景最美的海邊自駕路線之一，以十二門徒最為出名。

I was welcomed with breathtaking scenic views and koala mommy and joey (baby), making it the best weekend getaway for me in 2013. We have our road trip started from Melbourne, and drove along the coastal line.

這裡有非常壯觀美麗的風景和可愛的樹袋熊家庭，是我2013年最好的一次週末旅行。我們的自駕旅行從墨爾本開始，一路上經過很多沿海的地區。

We first passed by Dromana, then we (with the car) got on the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff. This ferry carries the whole vehicle on board and costs AUD$69. Departs from 7am every hour and crossing time is 40 mins.

我們首先開車經過一個叫Dromana的小鎮，接著我們在Sorrento乘坐了載車輪渡，40分鐘就帶我們到了海峽對面的小鎮Queenscliff。這種輪渡服務從早晨7點開始每小時一班，船費$69。

From Queenscliff, we continue our drive to Torquay, where we stopped over for Bells Beach. Bells Beach is a popular spot for wave riders, thus we were hoping to watch some exciting performance. Head to Bells Beach over the Easter weekend if you wanna watch some world's best surfers carving up the waves at the Rip Curl Pro Surfing Competition.

到達海峽對岸美麗的Queenscliff後，我們繼續前行到Torquay，這個小鎮因衝浪活動出名，我們也故意路過出名的金鈴海灘觀賞那些刺激的衝浪活動。如果你復活節時候去到金鈴灘，還可以看到世界頂級衝浪手比賽。

We then headed towards Apollo Bay.

我們接下來便到了小鎮阿波羅灣，你看大洋路的起始標誌令我有多興奮。

This marks the beginning of the renowned Great Ocean Road.

這個就是舉世聞名的大洋路的起點。

I have to say it was a very pleasant drive. Weather there changes quite frequently, so don't you worry if there's rain, it will be sunny again pretty fast.

我必須說這是一段非常愉快又愜意的自駕體驗。遇著下雨你也不用擔心，因為那邊天氣變的非常的快也很頻繁，晴天可能很快就會再次到來，那時美麗的彩虹就會掛在你的頭上。

On the way to Apollo Bay, drive slower when you're near Kennett River as you may be lucky to meet some koala.

當你開車路過Kennett River的時候，可開慢點留意路邊，因為在這裡你有很大幾率看到野生樹袋熊。

Next day we entered the region of Great Otway National Park. This is the place where you will get to greet some koalas! We were extremely lucky to have come across a koala mommy & joey!! Such an amazing experience, words failed me!

接下來第二天我們就來到了 Great Otway國家公園。如果你錯過了Kennett River的樹袋熊，沒有關係！因為在Great Otway國家公園你會有更大的可能性碰到可愛的樹袋熊！我們十分幸運的看到了樹熊媽媽和她背上的樹熊BB。這真是一次超棒的體驗，千言萬語都難以形容當時的奇妙感覺。

Near the 12 Apostles, there are attractions including Gibsons steps, Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge, The Arch, The Grotto, Bay of islands & Thunder Cave. They are all very beautiful and worth-visiting. You can go up close to 2 of the 12 Apostles at Gibsons steps.

在最著名的十二門徒風景區，不要錯過Gibeson Steps, Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge, The Arch, The Grotto, Bay of islands & Thunder Cave。這些景區都非常漂亮，值得一去。

The iconic golden cliffs and crumbling pillars of the 12 Apostles can be found 7km east of Port Campbell. There are 7 rock stacks that comprise the 12 Apostles (originally there were 8, but one stack collapsed in 2005).

那些巧琢天工的十二門徒石就在離小鎮Port Campbell東邊7公里的位置。可惜現在只剩下7個石頭了。(原本有8個石頭，但其中一個因為自然的原因於2005年倒塌了。)
